March 06th, 2015

Nairobi – 6th March 2015. ABV International and Radio Africa Group, a leader in the Pay TV market in Kenya, announced they are joining forces to increase the penetration and services offered by its already famous Bamba TV.

The partnership, includes the integration of ABV CAS Servers and over 1,000,000 ABV CAS-protected STBs, which will provides access to over 50 channels – 24 of which are premium channels exclusively carried by Bamba TV and with coverage over the entire country.

Radio Africa Group now joins other Kenyan broadcasters in the digital TV space including Nation Media Group, Standard Media Group and Royal Media Group which were granted a single digital distributor license to enable them broadcast their own digital signals.

The service is expected to escalate to over 3,000,000 protected subscribers in the coming months. Our SMS system was also integrated to facilitate payment throughout short messages.

As a value added service we provided ABV EAD system which is allows our partners to monetize trough customized adverts embedded in the booting up screen of the STB and audio channels.

Bamba TV, is targeting those who would not purchase the other FTA STBs because they were not open to start paying a monthly subscription for TV, while at the same time offering more than the usual free to air channels on the product.
